Carob Cacao Granola

A modern healthy take on the old time favourite coco pops, except with out all the processed preservatives and add ins! Utilising the all things natural chocolate flavour, with Carob and Cacao a natural choccy flavour made in heaven, both providing great anti-oxidants! Breakfast with a beneficial hit! 

Ingredients: 

1 cup amaranth puffs

1/2 cup cacao nibs

2 tablespoons carob

1/2 tbsp Cacao

2/3 cup chopped hazelnuts

3 tablespoons date paste

1/4 cup black sesame seeds

3 tablespoons melted coconut oil

1/2 cup desiccated coconut 

1 teaspoon cinnamon 

pinch of salt

Method:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees 

Combine all ingredients besides the cacao nibs, into a large mixing bowl, mix until all ingredients are well combined

Transfer to a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for around 5-10 minutes, until there is a nice caramelisation and sweet aroma.  

Remove from the oven and toss around the mixture to allow the under-layer to be baked!

Bake for a further 5 minutes and do the same, return for a further 5 minutes.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool, transfer back to the mixing bowl and add in the cacao nibs.

Transfer to an air tight container to store, I like to serve mine with some fresh fruit, coconut yoghurt and some home made cacao almond milk.
