What I’ve taken away from our sessions together is that I know I am able to express myself and know that my feelings have a purpose. I’ve also have been able to change my mindset on how to manage my life and being able to do things that I would have never done. Also I have taken to time to put myself first and it’s had a really positive effect since the first session we have had.

I started with Sammie doing her 1:1 modern mindful course. At first I was hesitant to start wasn’t sure if I could do it but so glad I did. Hey Sammie, five(ish) weeks with you! Past the midway point because of all the work we’ve put in since August I am so grateful to no longer be someone that struggles with anxiety, comparison, uncertainty, and insecurity in a way that impacted my life as much as it used to! I have learned the ability to create space during times when these challenging emotions arise, and move through them with grace and deeper appreciation for my inner world and all of the work yet to do. I now no longer judge myself for these emotions but get curious as to why they arise in certain situations or with certain people - what do they have to tell me about where and how I can grow? I have also learned (and am still perfecting!) how to authentically show up in my relationship with self and others. I now know that my relationship with self is the key to confidence and self love, and that honouring my self care is a key here also. When I look after myself I am a better friend, colleague, girlfriend, and person. And, through this practise, I remind myself of my inherit enoughness. Before Sammy’s 8 week Modern Mindful program, I was holding back from living as my true authentic self, I was letting comparison hold me back from taking leaps in my life, and I let the fear of failure stop me from reaching my goals.  

Throughout the 8 weeks, I learnt to break through those barriers and take simplified steps forward, while taking nourishing steps for myself too. I now feel fearless! Before approaching Sammie, I had a difficult/negative mindset towards myself. I was always prioritising others before myself and depleting myself of any joy. The sad part is, I didn't even realise it at the time. Sammie has made me realise the importance of choosing joy over fear, and asking me key questions to then ask myself - are my actions going to nourish me or deplete me?

I started to see and notice more through my everyday life & thoughts that all that I do was out of fear, and many of the things that I am adamant of have led me to depletion.

Through time and small steps, Sammie has helped me nourish my mind and give my approaches to things a different meaning. Instead of looking at a glass as half empty or half full, it's refillable.
